The Edmonton City Hall was completed in 1992 by Dub Architects and replaced the existing complex. The two main spaces of the City Hall, the public atrium and council chamber, are surmounted by pyramidal skylights. The skylights use an HSS truss-like structure as the form giver. The trusses moderate the light as it streams into the well lit spaces and create a play of light and shadow along the walls and floor.
